Black Fused Alumina Introduction:
Black fused alumina, also known as black aluminum oxide or black fused corundum, is an abrasive material developed later than conventional corundum. It is a dark gray crystalline substance, melted in electric arc furnaces using bauxite as its raw material, similar to brown fused alumina. Characterized by a lower Al2O3 content and a certain amount of Fe2O3 (approximately 10%), it exhibits moderate hardness, high toughness, high-temperature resistance, and stable thermal stability.
Primarily suited for free grinding applications, such as coarse grinding prior to electroplating processes, it is mainly employed for polishing and sandblasting stainless steel, fabricated metal products, and optical glass. Additionally, it serves as a new abrasive material for manufacturing resin grinding wheels, cut-off wheels, and emery cloth. With strong cutting power, high toughness, flexibility, excellent abrasion resistance, and high working efficiency, black fused alumina stands out as the optimal choice for grinding, polishing, and sandblasting stainless steel products.
